SENIOR Software Development Engineer (SDE) Job Category: Software Engineering: Development Location: Bellevue, WA, US Job ID: 783480-74839 Division: Online services Division The Bing Experience team is working on a new social search experience. We work with leading social platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, to bring the social graph into the search space. You'll have the opportunity to develop features using cutting edge social APIs. You'll gain a deep understanding of how viral apps work within a social network. You will develop large scale distributed systems on commidity hardware delivering world class scalability in performance and reliability. Concurrently, you will also need to mitigate user security and privacy concerns while still providing valuable personal and social experience. Roles and Responsibilities We are looking for a senior developer to help architect and build our Back End systems for social experiences. The successful candidate will need to work across teams and disciplines to help define both the technology platform and the user experience. Key system components will include search indexes, distributed caches, external API interfacing (Facebook, twitter), relevance algorithms and data federation and aggregation among web services. Skills and Qualifications - Ability to handle ambiguity and open ended customer issues - Ability to ramp-up quickly on complex and unfamiliar code - Collab well with other people and teams to deliver end to end experience - Knowledge about Internet security and authentication - Familiar with HTTP protocol Experience Required - Minimum of 5 years software development experience having shipped products with experience in all stages of a release cycle - Experience with agile development environment - Experience with development in large, high-volume services - Proficient with C or C# - BS CS required; MS and PhD or equivalent experience a bonus Since Bing launched in June of 2009, the search world has changed for the better.
