Job Description

Collaborates with the Nurse Manager for providing professional nursing care within an assigned unit.? Coordinates plan of care with the client, their family and the interdisciplinary team.? Ensures appropriate resources to all internal/external customers.? Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.
Associates Degree in Nursing; Two (2) years experience nursing experience; Current licensure by the georgia state Board of Nursing.? AHA-BLS required.? ACLS required within 9 months of employment.? Rhythm strip required within 9 months of employment.?
Sensory requirements include far acuity (see clearly 20 feet or more); near acuity (see clearly 20 inches or less); accurate depth perception (judge distance and space relationships); field of vision (see peripherally); accommodation (adjust vision to bring objects into focus) and color vision (distinguish and identify different colors).? Should also have good hearing acuity (ability to distinguish sounds or tones).? Requires heavy physical lifting, positioning, pushing or moving of patients.? Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies.? Requires manual dexterity and mobility.? Occasional stooping, reaching, bending, kneeling and crouching.? Must be able to function in stressful situations.
Requires contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances.? Exposed to hazardous agents, body fluids, wastes.? Exposed to hazards of handling deceased organs and tissues. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness).? Handles absentee replacement on short notice.? Handles emergency or crisis situations as well as multiple job duties at one time.? May be exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens.? May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases.? May be exposed to/occasionally exposed to patient elements.? May perform emergency care.? Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.? Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases.? Requires judgment/action which could result in serious consequences.? Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment.? Subject to many interruptions.? Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
